Small Cottage

Set in the heart of the peak district Small Barn is part of a portfolio of 3 barns that have been newly renovated to the highest standard and sit next to each other opposite the main farmhouse where the owners live. The total sleeping capacity for Small Barn is 2 people in a King size room with plenty of room for a blow up bed or cot for children.

This is a cosy property that boasts a beautiful snug living area with log burner and a fully equipped kitchen. Don't be fooled by this Barns name as it boasts 50 square meters of living space.

The thing that makes the location unique is its in the middle of the countryside so it is very private but is within 15 minute walking distance to Matlock town using a combination of scenic footpaths and road.

We are completely dog friendly. We welcome you to bring your furry friends at a small charge of £5 per dog per stay.

There are multiple stunning walks from the doorstep including the gem of the peak Lumsdale waterfalls at the bottom of the driveway. Many guests enjoy a walk over Riber village and into the famous Matlock bath which is approx 2.3 miles with plenty of buses and taxis waiting to bring you home after food and drinks. There are also 3 pubs within 10 / 15 minute walking distance.

A couple of things to mention we are a working farm so its peaceful on a weekend but there will be people coming and going on week days from 8am but no loud noise. Due to the nature and age of these barns pathways are cobbled and slabbed with multiple internal stairs so it not suitable for any one with limited mobility. Our driveway is steep so if there is snow ice then it is advisable to leave cars at the bottom. We do allow events but unfortunately no hen or stag do's. Please note this is a working farm so there will be noise and people coming and going on weekdays from 8am.
